Entry for May 29, 2007

Friday when I got home my bedroom was framed in.  I should have my own bed by the end of this week.  Yipeeeeeeeeeee

It was a very productive Memorial Day weekend.  I started taking the extra dirt out of the stallion barn.  I didn't realize how much work it was going to be.  :)  I didn't get started until Sunday around noon.  I think if I could have gotten started Saturday I might have gotten finished.  :))  I am hoping to have the stallion barn done by the second week of June.  Hopefully before that.

It is supposed rain here every day this week so that may hinder some of my progress on the stallion barn.

Manny gave me a scare this weekend.  I have changed my feed and he must really like it because he was gulping and choked himself on it 2 days in a row.  I have never had a horse choke on me.  It should not have been a problem he has eaten pelleted feed before and the only pellets in this are alfalfa pellets the majority of the feed is oats.  I have had several suggestions on how to help him with this.  I think the first we will use for a little bit is to soak his feed.  I will give him a week or two to heal his throat because I am sure it is sore.  Then I will try putting some rocks in his feed so he has to eat it slower.

I think it will also help when he has his stall to eat in then he wont have to worry about his pasture mate getting it.  I am sure we will figure something out.  This feed is really good (private recipe) I want to keep him on it.

We are also getting ready to put Red, Peanut and Bess on dry lot.  Which means some fencing to put up, a little clean up to do and a few other odds and ends.

I just need to keep prioritizing otherwise I start feeling overwhelmed.

I have a lady coming to see me from Texas and she is going to spend a couple of days with me.  She is possible looking at buying Pita.  Which will make me take a needed break.  We will probably go ridding one day and mess with the horses.  It has been along time since I just took a break and just played with the horses.  Anyone else want to come see me this summer for a day or two?  LOL

Well I suppose that is enough for now. TTYL
